On the first day I set out with the goals over the week to do the following...
1. Refine possibilities and connections that better meet grade level expectations using standards
2. Present a clear structure and possibilities for all art projects and grade levels via a web page
I really kept an open mind with Bjorn's pace and instructional practices. I knew coming into this class, I needed to learn as much as I possibly could to create a website for my department. Being an Unified Arts Teacher, I am expected to make my program transparent to students, parents, and fellow faculty.
I absorbed as much as I could over the week. One program at a time! I set my goals four days ago. Funny to look at these goals...I did not finish my website today but I feel that I nailed my goals. I will complete my site prior to our follow-up meeting in July.
I now have a structured site that has multiple pages that demonstrate my overall program criteria, grade level goals, assessment criteria/strategies, district wide curriculum, and much more. Since I had to create a structure to display these concepts, I had to take some time to refine the information I was posting to this site.
Overall recap...I had a blast...learned multiple tools that will only make me a better teacher, and created projects that can be used as exemplars when instructing students. I would take this course again. Thank you Bjorn!

Use of time on final day...Entry 4.
Structure for Tech class on 7/24/10...
- I will stat class off by presenting my movie created with John Upchurch.
- Secondly, I plan to take an hour to refine my lesson plan for art history created today.
- Third, I plan of using my time in class tomorrow to create a basic structure of a web page for the CMS Art Department. I have my syllabus, grade level project examples, pictures of kids/environment, and other supportive images all on an external drive. This data will allow me to use the iGoogle format to create a website. I plan on changing this site as the year goes on. I look forward to having this time to create a tool that will be invaluable to my instructional practices as a UA teacher.
Thank you for another great class today,

Posting 3- Lesson Plan
Post 3
What is a unit plan that I would like to incorporate in my teaching using the things I have learned in class? How do I plan to assess students in this unit project?
I am a strong believer that kids should understand multiple influences from art history. I have a basic project that asks students to research, design, create, and present using art history as a spring board. I plan on refining this project using all the programs learned. I plan on incorporating a rubric to insure students clearly understand the criteria for the presentation and physical project.
I had a blast using Movie Maker today!@ What a bonus to the audio programs learned yesterday!

How do I plan to integrate this information learned today into my instructional practices?
I learned the versatility of a few programs today in class. These programs included Audacity, Finale Notepad, Magix Music Maker, and Lame Encoder. Not only did I learn the possibilities of these programs, I learned the versatility these programs can offer each other when creating a multimedia project.
These programs offer a solid foundation to multiple things while differentiating to all learners. These programs can allow you to create a dynamic audio and visual presentations for unit projects that could make interdisciplinary connections. Many teachers will say, "Kids need to grab hook, line, and sinker!" This combination of programs creates the foundation for this to happen.
These programs can also aide a wide range of ability levels to be successful in the main stream classroom setting. The programs can easily be controlled to allow all learners to create based on their personal interests while still meeting standards and project goals.
One a side note, I did not get out of my seat even on breaks. I was hooked. I worked from the second class started to the second it ended. This type of instruction is priceless!
Ausome class!!!
